Consumer - Multiplexed LED Driver ASIC

Device Name - Multiplexed LED Driver ASIC.

Application Sector

Professional Display

Function

The ASIC is intended to drive 64 pixels of a LED display, each pixel consisting of red, green, and blue LEDs that have to be independently driven. The device contains 24 LED driver circuits to driver 8 pixels which enables 64 pixels to be driven by the use of an 8:1 digital multiplexer. Eight parallel channels of serial data control the LED drivers.

Features

LED output drivers:

  • 10 bit multiplying DAC from externally programmable resistor and voltage.
  • Maximum output current 33 mA. Maximum output voltage 15 V. Accuracy +/- 2%.

Technology

  • CMOS 0.8 micron with high resistance poly.
  • 64 Pin EQUAD with internal metal slug.
