Electronics is the fastest growing sector within the automotive industry and now is Swindon Silicon Systems largest market sector. The use of electronics is used through the car: to improve efficiency of existing functions, to replace mechanically driven systems with electric motors (drive by wire), interface to a wide range of sensors (airbag, ABS, EBD, ASR, CSV, ESP, tyre pressure, etc.), engine management and telemetrics are just some of the applications.
The demands on the electronics can be extreme as many functions are safety critical and operate in harsh environments. Quality and safety are paramount to SSSL and the company has QS9000 approval to meet the demands of the automotive industry.
